The Highlight apartment building (formerly the Sonia) and new Mayfield sidewalk

After determined efforts by the Councillor’s office, the City is installing a new sidewalk along the new Highlight apartment building. The sidewalk, overlooked by city planners in the site plan review process, will provide greater safety for pedestrians as Mayfield becomes a busier road with the exponential growth now underway in Vanier’s western sector. Mayfield’s western side offers only a poor tarmac path, which hopefully will be replaced with a proper sidewalk with the construction of 43 McArthur Avenue, approved for a 10-storey high-rise.
