The Comité de la francophonie of the Vanier Community Association, recipient of the Prix Roger-Bernard from the Réseau du patrimoine franco-ontarien

The award was presented by historian Michel Prévost at an evening event and show featuring singer-songwriter Joëlle Roy, ambassador of Heritage Month, on February 19 at Casselman Catholic High School.

The Francophiles and Francophones of Vanier have joined forces to form the Comité de la francophonie of the Vanier Community Association.  Why? To promote, protect and celebrate our language, identity, culture, heritage and diversity.  Volunteer members, young and old and from all over the world, present a program of activities: 5 à 7s in French in local bars and restaurants, festivities for the Journée internationale de la Francophonie (March 20), St-Jean Day (June 24), the Jour des Franco-Ontariens et des Franco-Ontariennes (September 25), and the CARRÉment allumé! winter illumination at the Carré de la Francophonie in Vanier, among others.  The Committee is preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag on September 25, as well as the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Order of Jacques-Cartier, known as the Patente, on October 22, 2026.
