A crisis response team that has intervened in thousands of mental health and drug calls in central Ottawa is about to expand.
The Alternative Neighbourhood Crisis Response (ANCHOR) team was launched in 2024 as an alternative to dispatching Ottawa police to mental health and substance abuse crises in Centretown and Somerset West.
